HANS Adjustable 3-Jaw Gear Puller [3” / 4” / 6” / 8” / 10” / 12”]

Commonly used to remove parts such as bearings, pulleys or gears from a shaft. Best used on larger gears in open areas with easy access. With 3 jaws, the puller is better equipped to apply even pulling pressure around the gear as the threaded rod is tightened against the gear’s shaft. Most widely used because the extra jaw helps distribute the force more evenly.

How to use:

1. Adjust and fit the puller – The jaws and T-handle of the puller need to be adjusted so that it fits tightly around the part to be removed.

2. Position the center bolt – Turns the center bolt down to touch the shaft, taking careful consideration to adjust the jaws and T-handle until the point of the center bolt is in the center of the shaft.

3. Turn the center bolt – The technician then turns the center bolt slowly and carefully applying force onto the shaft.

4. Remove the part – The process continues with turning of the center bolt and results in pulling the part off the shaft.
