WD-40 Specialist® Rust Remover Soak is great for removing rust from tools, metal, cast iron, chrome parts, and more without harming paint, gaskets, trim, or other surrounding parts. This rust-removal formula has no toxic fumes, does not use acids or caustic chemicals and is safe to use on most metals. It restores surfaces to bare metal without scraping, chipping or scrubbing. For light rust, leave parts in 1-3 hours and for heavy rust, leave parts in the rust removal solution overnight. This non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable and biodegradable formula is effective on small or large items that can be soaked . Do not use on parts that have bluing, browning or protective oxide paints, as those protective coatings would be removed.

Use it on:
– Rusted metal parts and surfaces like rusted bolts, rusted pruning shears, rusted circular saws and rusted door hinges.
Directions to use:
- Before soaking, remove as much dirt and loose debris as possible from the item to be treated. Remove oils and greases with a detergent or degreaser before using this product to improve the rust removal effectiveness.
- Pour the Rust Remover Soak into a container so that the object being treated is completely sub-merged. This product is ready-to-use and requires no dilution.
- Leave the item in the solution for at least 30 minutes to remove light rust, overnight (8 hours) for medium rust, and up to 24 hours for heavily rusted items.
- Remove the item from the solution and rinse with water and dry completely. If rust remains in the metal pits, soak again and rinse to remove.
Appearance/ Odor: Clear, colorless liquid/slight odor.
